Getting started
How do I add an account?
Enable two-factor authentication in the service you want to protect. In Auth., choose Add Account and scan its setup QR code, select a saved QR image or enter the secret key manually. Basic supports up to 3 accounts; Premium adds unlimited accounts. Confirm a generated code works with the service before finishing setup.
Which accounts are compatible?
Auth. supports six-digit SHA-1 time-based codes that refresh every 30 seconds. It rejects unsupported algorithms, token lengths, periods and counter-based codes. Auth. cannot generate a provider’s SMS codes or approve its push-based sign-in requests.
Why is my verification code rejected?
Choose the correct account, then check iOS Settings → General → Date & Time and enable automatic time when available. Try a fresh code near the start of its 30-second window. If it still fails, verify your original setup using the account provider’s recovery options. Auth. cannot reset that provider’s password or two-factor requirement.
Does Auth. need an internet connection or a login?
There is no Auth. account to create. Codes are generated on your device and work offline. A connection is needed to purchase, restore or refresh Premium, visit this website or email support. RevenueCat also connects to manage subscription information as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Moving phones and recovery
How do I move to a new phone?
- Keep the original app and device available. Save each service’s recovery codes separately.
- Use Auth.’s export option to save a compatible JSON transfer file, or use each provider’s two-factor setup or recovery process.
- Import the file on the new device. Auth. also accepts compatible setup QR codes and supported Google Authenticator transfer QR batches. Adding external imports beyond the Basic allowance requires Premium.
- Verify codes on the new device work before deleting the original accounts or wiping the old phone.
- Remove unnecessary copies of the transfer file from Files, shared destinations and their deleted-items folders.
JSON exports contain unencrypted secret keys. Choose a trusted destination and keep the file private. A Premium subscription can be restored separately with the same Apple Account; it does not transfer the vault.
Are encrypted backups stored in iCloud?
No. In-app snapshots stay in the current installation and depend on its device-bound key. They are excluded from iOS system backups. They can help restore entries within that installation, but cannot recover your accounts after a lost phone, deleted app or lost encryption key.
I lost my phone or deleted the app. Can you recover my codes?
We do not hold your secret keys and cannot recover or decrypt them. Use an export you previously saved, a recovery code from the account provider, or that provider’s recovery process. Do not send secrets or recovery codes to anyone claiming to be Auth. support.
Why did my automatic backup not run?
Creating backups requires active Premium and Auto Backup enabled. iOS controls background execution, so the exact time is not guaranteed. Check the latest saved snapshot in Backup and create one manually when needed. Local snapshots still require the original installation and key.
Subscriptions and billing
What is included in Basic and Premium?
Basic includes 3 accounts, QR setup, offline codes, app lock, search, favorites and exports. Premium adds unlimited accounts, new encrypted local backups and new custom categories. There is one plan: Auth. Premium Weekly, ₹699/week in India, with Apple’s localized prices elsewhere and no free trial. The iOS release is coming soon.
How do I cancel?
Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Auth. Premium Weekly, then cancel. Do this at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid renewal. You ordinarily keep access until the paid period ends. Deleting the app or emailing support does not cancel billing. See Apple’s cancellation guide.
What happens to my accounts if Premium expires?
Existing codes remain accessible, including accounts above the Basic limit. You can still export accounts and recover saved local snapshots. Adding accounts beyond the free allowance, creating new backups and creating new custom categories require Premium. Expiration does not delete your accounts.
I paid already. How do I restore Premium?
Sign in to the same Apple Account used to purchase, connect to the internet, open the Auth. Premium screen and tap Restore. An eligible subscription can be restored on your compatible devices where Auth. is available. If it still does not appear, check Subscriptions in iOS Settings and email us with the app version and a description of the issue. Restoring Premium does not restore your vault.
How do I request a refund?
Apple processes payments and refund requests. Visit Report a Problem and follow Apple’s instructions. Eligibility depends on Apple’s rules and applicable consumer law. We cannot promise a refund outcome. Canceling stops future renewal but does not automatically refund a past charge.
Why are subscriptions temporarily unavailable?
Check your connection and try Retry on the Premium screen. Basic and existing codes remain available. If the issue continues, contact support with your app version, iOS version and country or region; do not send payment-card details or account secrets.
For full billing details, read the subscription terms and purchase-data policy.
Privacy, app lock and deletion
How do I lock Auth.?
Open Auth. Settings and enable biometric unlock. iOS handles Face ID, Touch ID or device-passcode authentication. Choose your preferred automatic lock delay. Disabling app lock requires authentication.
How do I delete my data?
- Before deleting an authenticator entry, confirm you have working recovery codes or another sign-in method for that service.
- Use the account’s Delete action to remove it from the vault.
- In Backup, delete saved snapshots containing that account. Removing a current entry does not remove older snapshot copies.
- Delete exported files and saved QR images separately from their destinations, including any cloud or deleted-items copies.
- To request deletion of support correspondence or subscription data processed on our behalf, email help.inshot@gmail.com.
There is no Auth. online account to delete. Removing the app deletes its local data, while iOS manages Keychain items separately. Subscription records may require retention for restoration, disputes, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Cancel billing separately through Apple. See retention and deletion details.
How do I change permissions or make a privacy request?
Change available permissions in iOS Settings. Turn automatic backups or app lock on or off in Auth.’s settings. For access, correction, deletion or other applicable privacy rights concerning data we hold, email help.inshot@gmail.com. Include the app name and your request, without any secrets.
Contact support
Email help.inshot@gmail.com. Include “Auth.”, your app version, iOS version, a description of the problem, and the steps that led to it. Redact account details from any screenshot.
Do not send setup keys, live codes, recovery codes, exported backups, passwords or payment-card details. We cannot recover an account by receiving those details.
