Auth. / Using the app
Terms of Use
Clear terms for your accounts, Premium subscription and recovery options. Please read these before using Auth.

The essentials
- Basic includes 3 accounts. Premium adds unlimited accounts, new local backups and custom categories.
- Premium is ₹699 per week in India, auto-renewing, with no free trial. Other regions use Apple’s localized prices.
- Cancel through your Apple Account. Deleting the app does not cancel billing.
- Keep recovery codes and transfer accounts before deleting Auth. or changing phones.
1. Scope and acceptance
These terms describe Auth. - Authenticator 2FA for iPhone and iPad and this website. “Auth.”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the app’s publisher identified in its App Store listing. By using our app or website, you agree to the applicable terms. If you do not agree, stop using them, first securing any account-recovery information you need.
You must be able to agree to these terms under the laws that apply to you, or use the app with the involvement and permission of a parent or guardian where required. Our Privacy Policy explains information handling; acceptance of these terms is not a substitute for consent where consent is legally required.
2. License and Apple’s role
The iOS app is licensed under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). It governs your app license, including permitted use, termination, warranties, liability and governing-law provisions. These service and website terms supplement that agreement and do not replace it. If they conflict on an app-license matter, the Standard EULA controls, subject to mandatory consumer law.
The app’s publisher is responsible for the app and its support. Apple operates the App Store and payment system; Apple does not provide Auth. account-recovery support. Contact us using the details below for app questions. Third-party services and open-source components retain their respective rights and license terms. We do not claim ownership of your account data.
3. What Auth. supports
Auth. generates time-based one-time passwords locally. The current iOS version supports SHA-1 TOTP with six digits and a 30-second period; unsupported algorithms, lengths, periods and counter-based accounts are rejected. Auth. requires iOS 17 or later on a compatible iPhone or iPad.
No Auth. online account is required. You must obtain a valid setup key from each service you use. That service controls code acceptance, account access and recovery. Auth. is independent of those services and cannot reset their passwords or remove their two-factor requirements.
Code generation works offline. Purchasing, restoring and refreshing a subscription, optional analytics and crash reporting, accessing this website and contacting support require a connection. Your network provider’s charges may apply.
4. Your responsibilities
- Add only accounts you own or are authorized to manage.
- Keep your device, passcode, setup keys, exports and recovery codes secure.
- Keep the device’s date and time accurate so codes work.
- Keep each account provider’s recovery codes separately and verify transfers before deleting the original entries.
- Do not use the app for unlawful access, harmful activity or infringement of another person’s rights, or interfere with its security or subscription systems.
- Respect applicable law and the license restrictions in the Standard EULA, including any rights the law preserves.
5. Backups, exports and recovery
Encrypted in-app snapshots are local to this installation and depend on its encryption key. They are not cloud backups and do not provide recovery after losing the device, removing app data or losing the key. We cannot recover, decrypt or reset a lost vault.
Android-compatible JSON exports include unencrypted secrets. QR codes can also contain secrets. Store and share them carefully. Destinations you choose may upload or retain copies under their own policies. Deleting a vault entry does not remove it from older snapshots or exported copies.
Before uninstalling or moving phones, transfer accounts or confirm another recovery method with each account provider. Background backup timing is controlled by iOS and is not guaranteed. See our transfer guide.
6. Basic and Premium access
Basic allows up to 3 accounts, with QR setup, manual entry, offline codes, app lock, search, favorites and exports. Premium unlocks unlimited accounts, creation of encrypted local backups and creation of custom categories while the subscription is active. “Unlimited” removes the Basic three-account allowance; device capacity, supported formats and safe storage/import limits still apply.
After Premium expires, existing codes, account exports and restoration of saved local snapshots remain accessible. Existing accounts are not deleted or hidden because of expiration. Adding accounts beyond the Basic allowance, including through external imports, creating new backups and creating new custom categories require Premium. Restoring your subscription does not restore your authenticator vault.
7. Weekly subscription and billing
Auth. Premium Weekly is one auto-renewing subscription with a one-week billing period. Its India price is ₹699 per week, with no free trial. Elsewhere, Apple’s localized price is shown prominently in the app and purchase confirmation before you subscribe. The plan will be available with the iOS release; no payments are taken on this website.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account may be charged for renewal within the preceding 24 hours, at the renewal price Apple shows.
Pricing or paid features may change with appropriate notice. Apple handles price-change notices and obtains consent when required. A change does not remove any rights or remedies required by applicable consumer law.
8. Cancellation, restoration and refunds
- Manage or cancel
- Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Auth. Premium Weekly. Cancel there before renewal. You ordinarily keep Premium through the end of the paid period, unless Apple revokes or refunds access. Deleting Auth. or emailing support does not cancel the subscription. See Apple’s cancellation instructions.
- Restore a purchase
- Use Restore on the Auth. Premium screen while signed in to the same Apple Account used to purchase, with an internet connection. An eligible subscription can be restored on your compatible devices where Auth. is available. Subscription access is separate from vault data; accounts must be transferred separately.
- Refunds and billing issues
- Request an eligible refund through Apple’s Report a Problem service. Apple processes billing and refund requests under its rules and applicable law; we cannot promise an outcome. Cancellation alone does not automatically refund past charges. This does not limit mandatory refund or other consumer rights.
9. Availability and support
Daily reminders and security tips are optional, free and controlled in Settings. You may choose one, two or four per day and turn them off at any time. iOS controls delivery; reminders are not a guarantee that your accounts are safe or an alert about an actual security incident. Optional analytics and crash reporting require a separate privacy choice, described in the Privacy Policy.
We provide support at help.inshot@gmail.com. Updates may change compatibility or features; material changes to paid features will be communicated through appropriate notice. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation, every third-party account’s compatibility, or access to services outside our control.
The app depends on your device, operating system, account setup and time settings. No authenticator can prevent every security incident or replace each service’s recovery process. Nothing in these terms promises that you cannot lose access or data.
10. Warranties and consumer rights
The Standard EULA sets out applicable app warranties, disclaimers and limitations of liability. To the extent permitted by law, the website is provided as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty, liability, refund, remedy or consumer protection that cannot legally be excluded.
These terms do not impose a separate mandatory arbitration requirement or waive non-waivable rights under the laws of your country. Contact us first if you have a concern; this does not restrict your right to use a regulator, court or other remedy available to you.
11. Stopping use and changes
You can stop using Auth. at any time. Secure your accounts and recovery options first, delete local entries and snapshots as needed, and cancel any subscription separately through Apple. App-license termination is governed by the Standard EULA.
We may update these terms as the app or applicable requirements change. The revised version and effective date will appear here. Material changes will be communicated appropriately, and agreement will be requested where required. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights that applicable law protects.
12. Contact
For support, billing guidance, privacy requests or questions about these terms, email help.inshot@gmail.com. Include the app name and a description of the issue. Do not send secret keys, active codes, recovery codes or backup files.
